Privacy Policy
Effective: 2026-09-29
Libertron (주식회사 리버트론) (the "Company") runs Robopedia (robopedia.ai, the "Service") and processes as little personal data as possible under Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). There are no accounts, no logins and no email sign-ups. If you never use the error-report feature, we do not collect your name or anything you write.
This English version is provided for convenience; the Korean version prevails.
At a glance
- What we collect
- What you write in a report, an optional display name, a keyed hash of your IP address (the IP itself is not stored) and a hash of a random report token
- What we don't
- Real names, email addresses, phone numbers, advertising or tracking cookies
- How long
- IP hashes 30 days · reports and conversations 1 year after the last activity
- AI processing
- Reports are reviewed only by local AI models on a server the Company runs in Korea; report text is never sent to an outside AI service.
- Transfers abroad
- Neon (database, stored in Singapore), Cloudflare (hosting and delivery, US), Slack (operator reports, US) — see section 7
- Contact
- contact@robopedia.ai
1. Why we process personal data
- To receive error reports and correction requests, reply with the AI's decision and its reasons, and keep the conversation going
- To prevent abuse such as mass or automated submissions (rate limiting)
- To credit your display name in the public correction record — only if you opt in
- To count visits in aggregate, without identifying anyone
- To control access to the operator dashboard (operators only)
2. What we process and how
| When | Data | How |
|---|---|---|
| Reporting (optional) | Display name (a nickname is fine), whether to show it publicly | You enter it |
| Reporting (required) | Report and conversation text, the page it is about, interface language | You enter it / automatic |
| Reporting (automatic) | A keyed hash of your IP address (the IP is never stored), a hash of a random report token | Generated automatically |
| Any visit | Access logs (IP address, browser details, request time) | Recorded by our host (Cloudflare) to run the servers |
| Operators | Login attempts (IP hash, success/failure) | Recorded at dashboard login |
Please don't include contact details or ID numbers (yours or anyone else's) in a report. If you do, we delete them as soon as we notice.
3. Legal basis
- Handling your report: action at the data subject's request (PIPA Art. 15(1)4)
- IP hashes for abuse prevention: the Company's legitimate interest (Art. 15(1)6), limited by never storing the raw IP and deleting hashes after 30 days
- Showing your display name: only if you tick "show my name in the public credit"
4. Retention
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| IP hashes (reports, messages, login attempts) | 30 days, then deleted automatically |
| Report and conversation text, display name, token hash | 1 year after the last activity, or until you ask us to delete it |
| Public correction record | As long as the story is public. Reporter names are not included (except an opted-in thank-you credit). |
| Database backups | Rotated and deleted after 14 days |
| Hosting access logs | Per the host's (Cloudflare's) retention policy |
5. Deletion
When a retention period ends, an automated job deletes the data from the database without delay. Copies in backups disappear when those backups rotate out. We keep no personal data on paper.
6. Sharing with third parties
We do not provide personal data to third parties, except where the law requires it (for example a lawful request from investigators).
7. Processors and transfers abroad
The following companies process personal data for us, which transfers it outside Korea (PIPA Art. 28-8).
| Recipient | Country | Data | Purpose | When / how | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Neon Inc. | US company · data stored in Singapore | All report data in section 2 (display name, text, IP hash, token hash) and operator login records | Database hosting | Sent over an encrypted connection when you report / an operator logs in | As in section 4 |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | US (requests are handled in the Cloudflare data center nearest to you) | Access logs, report input in transit, cookieless visit statistics | Website hosting and delivery, server code (Workers), visit statistics (Web Analytics) | Over the network while you use the Service | Per Cloudflare's policy |
| Slack Technologies, LLC | US | Daily operator report: number of reports, decisions, report IDs and story titles. Report text, display names and IP hashes are not sent. | Reporting the previous day's activity to the operator | Sent automatically once a day | Per the Slack workspace's retention |
If you don't use the report feature, nothing except access logs is transferred. If you don't want your data transferred abroad, simply don't submit reports — reading the site is unaffected.
Reports are reviewed by AI only with local models on a server the Company runs in Korea (an in-house Mac mini). Report text is never sent to an outside AI service. Writing and translating stories, and carrying out an operator's correction instructions, may use an outside AI service (Anthropic PBC, US); only the public source article and the operator's instructions are sent, never readers' personal data.
Some stories embed YouTube videos and lists show YouTube thumbnails. Your browser then connects to Google's servers (US) directly, so Google may receive your IP address and similar data; the Company does not receive it. Videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
8. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or stop the processing of your personal data at any time. Write to contact@robopedia.ai; we act within the statutory 10 days and tell you the outcome. An agent may request on your behalf with proof of authority.
Because there are no accounts, we confirm it is you with the report ID and the report token stored in the browser you used. If the token is lost, we can confirm using the report's content and time.
10. How AI decides on reports
When you report an error, a generative AI checks your claim against the story's original sources, decides whether to change the story or keep it, and tells you why. Legal requests, claims about prices or lead times, and claims about human-verified values go to the operator.
The decision concerns the story, not you, and has no effect on your rights or obligations. If you want a human to look, keep replying in the conversation (after a set number of turns it goes to the operator) or email us.
11. Security measures
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) everywhere
- Raw IP addresses are never stored — only keyed hashes, deleted after 30 days
- Report tokens are stored only as hashes
- Operator dashboard access control: password, login-attempt limits, session expiry, login records
- Access to personal data limited to the operator
12. Children under 14
The Service is not directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that it has, we delete it without delay.
13. Privacy officer
Contact our privacy officer with any question, complaint or request about personal data. We respond without delay.
